Absence Note Policy Clarification

If you have been absent, you have one week to turn in doctor/parent notes to have your absence(s) excused. Notes for absences over one week will not be posted (your absence will not be excused).

Absence Excuse Notes

All excuse notes turned in at the front office must have the student's first and last name on them in order for attendance to be excused correctly. Look at your notes before you leave them in the note basket to be sure your first and last name are on them.

Absence Makeups
High school students who accumulate more than five (5) absences from a semester-long course or ten (10) absences from a year-long course will receive a failing grade for that course unless the classwork and time missed due to excessive absences are made up. Absences may be made up during SMART Lunch in the Media Center.

Students may makeup one class period with one hour. Students must sign in when they arrive to makeup time and sign out when they leave.

Check Out Policy

Every student who checks out of school early, whether you are driving or being picked up, must check out on the student computer in the front office. If you do not check out using the computer, disciplinary action will be taken.

Cell Phone Policy

Students are not allowed to use phones during instructional time. Click here to read the full RCS Board of Education cellphone policy.

2nd Chance Breakfast Policy

The transition from 1st to 2nd period will now be ten minutes to accommodate 2nd Chance Breakfast. If you are not in line by the time the warning bell rings, you will be moved along to class and not allowed to get 2nd Chance Breakfast.

Also, 1st breakfast will not be served after 8:00 AM.
