Cox Named Hilltopper of the Month

Congratulations to Mr. Rich Cox for being recognized as Hilltopper of the Month!

Mr. Cox is a graduate of Battle Mountain High School in Nevada and Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. He taught and coached for two years at Shelby High School, and he is currently in his 19th year of teaching at R-S Central where he is thoroughly invested in the students of RS Central and Rutherford County Schools. He is passionate about instilling a love of reading in his students, has a great rapport with them, and constantly looks for ways to improve his own teaching practices. Mr. Cox serves as a dedicated coach for RS Central’s Wrestling Team, is the sponsor of FCA, and even coached RS Middle Cross Country this year.

 

In his free time Coach Cox enjoys spending time with his wife, Renee, and sons, Caleb and Timothy. Also, he is an outdoorsman who is fond of fishing, gardening, and mountain biking.

 

For being recognized as Hilltopper of the Month he said,“I love the students and what I do as a teacher and coach.  I hope to change lives through my influence.”
